Tropical Landscaping Theme Gives You a Year Round Vacation Spot

With a tropical landscaping design, you can experience a vacation without taking a vacation any time you step into the realm of a magical backyard we design just for you.  With just a few basic elements you find in any luxury resort, your home becomes a vacation spot for the evening, the weekend, or even the lazy personal day off—anytime you like.

No matter where you go in the world of resorts, the pool is always central to the experience of a truly tropical vacation.  If you will notice when you visit such places, the pool is always built in a way that blends the architecture of the hotel with the tropical landscaping of the surroundings.

Your Exterior Worlds landscape designer will design your swimming pool in exactly the same manner. He will carefully study your home and build you a pool whose size and structure will create the same sense of grandeur just steps from your doorway.

As you step out onto the patio to tan by the waterside, lush tropical plants that we can import from all over the world will rise up to block out anything familiar that you do not want to see.  Instead, you have your own three dimensional vision of paradise right there, waiting for you, without having to travel to find it.

Here, you can sip on margaritas while you read a book, or thumb through a magazine while outdoor speakers pipe in recorded ocean sounds.  You can take a break in the shade under a sun umbrella, or you can lay out fully in the sun to work on your tan.  The richpatio designs will compliment both the architecture of your home, and they will tie directly to the tropical landscape design around the pool.

You can even have Exterior Worlds build a concrete wall along one side of the pool, and you can commission a local artist to paint you an ocean side beach scene.  Such a setting, though opulent, is surely possible here in our city.

The Houston landscape is warm enough and sufficiently humid to support both Pacific Island and Caribbean plants.  It is best, however, to let your landscape developer select these plants for you, because many of them will need to be shade resistant if we are going to plant them under the branches of large existing trees that we have to preserve.

Your landscape designer may also need to create special irrigation and drainage systems for your plants in order to make sure that they get a consistent amount of water.  Houston, though semi-tropical, does not offer the same rainy season/ dry season cycle as island environments, so this cycle must be artificially maintained as much as possible.

Your tropical landscape design will extend throughout your property in such a way as to catch your eye wherever you go.  In order to avoid clashing with indigenous trees, tropical plants may be planted around concealed retaining walls to give them emphasis.  Such walls are ideal places to build waterfalls and artificial streams that flow through your yard.

A simple path along such a stream, surrounded by tall bamboo and banana trees, can make you feel like you and your spouse are walking through the jungle together.

If you want to add adventure to the romance of your tropical landscaping theme, your landscape developer can build stone structures in various places that resemble the many tribal sites found in remote parts of the world.  Both stone walls and stone carvings litter islands in many far-off places and speak to us of ancient mysteries the nature of which we can only speculate.

At night, the water, stone, and vegetation of your tropical landscaping design will give you a feeling of magical getaway anytime you like.  Vacation or no vacation, you can at least travel in spirit to wherever your imagination and senses will carry you without ever having to leave the confines of your backyard.
