Home Landscape Designs

Home landscape designs by Exterior Worlds turn yards into outdoor living space. Functional structures and elements are developed with an aesthetic that is representative of homeowner interest, lifestyle, and entertainment preferences. Public space is developed according to events that the homeowner plans to host in the future, with care being given to the numbers of anticipated guests and their preferences for amenities and activities. Special areas are also set aside and developed exclusively for the enjoyment of the homeowner and any children they may have.

In order to create a home landscape design that people will want to visit as a preferred weekend destination, we have to first create a focal point for the entire aesthetic of the design . Without exception, this is always the house. As the central hub of lifestyle, and as the most prominent feature on the landscape, the house establishes the tone of the aesthetic and many contextual elements of landscape design. This is not to say that we develop the yard into an exact mirror image of the home, but rather create a complimentary visual that reflects key elements of home architecture and style in the many special environments that we created in both the front and back yard.

Open areas of the yard are often developed exclusively as decorative elements. Fountains, gardens, hedgerows, and flower beds remind us that while structure constitutes the form of home landscape designs, Nature still defines its essence and power. Enclosed areas are then developed that create environment through separation in a variety of forms.

Typically any area that is enclosed and separated from the remainder of the yard is called an outdoor room. Unlike indoor rooms, outdoor rooms do not have to have four walls and a ceiling. Any natural or manmade partition that separates all or even part of an area is enough to set aside space for specific purposes or events.

Sometimes we create nothing more than an open space for children to use as a private play area. In other cases, we may build a small wall around a garden and construct a custom patio with outdoor lighting to give guests a place to sit and talk. Hedges can be used to separate sports courts from more aesthetic elements and without diminishing the theme of the home landscape design. More advanced outdoor rooms, such as outdoor fireplaces and summer kitchens, quickly become the focal points of larger gatherings and celebration.

These environments are always highly customized to reflect both the home and surrounding landscape designs. No two outdoor rooms are identical, and no home landscaping design is ever generic. Each environment, regardless of size or material build, is always reflective of both the home and the property as a whole.
